October is Adopt A Turtle Membership Month

Be a Sea Turtle Friend! Renew or become a member this month!

October is Adopt a Sea Turtle Membership Drive month! As a special thank you for renewing or signing up before October 31, you will receive a turtle adoption certificate as well as be entered into a drawing for a beautiful larimar turtle pendant on an 18“ sterling silver chain kindly donated by Caravan Gallery.

For just $30 as an individual (Hawksbill level), or $50 as a family (Green Turtle level), you will be helping us protect and preserve the Virgin Islands National Park. Looking for more turtle goodies!  Add a cute plush turtle or a turtle tee available in our shop to your cart!

Friends of Virgin Islands Park is totally dependent on donations and the support of lovers of St. John like you!  Our Sea Turtle Program aims to protect sea turtle nests, facilitate research projects, and spread awareness of sea turtle conservation in Virgin Islands National Park and its surrounding waters in the Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument. Managed by two program coordinators working with Park Rangers and funded by Friends, the program includes: nest protection, volunteer beach monitoring, research, and education outreach! Last season we helped more than 3,000 Hawksbill sea turtles safely reach the sea!

Your membership dues support numerous projects and programs within the park to further our mission and connect our island community and children to the park; support long-term planning efforts in the park; advocate on behalf of the park; and help make us a model of natural resource protection and cultural preservation. Please visit our website to learn more about our work.

Questions about your membership status? Our memberships are like subscriptions and either automatically renew or expire a year from your sign up date depending on your selection.  Your preference can be changed at any time in your account. Please feel free to contact Jennifer Stone at jstone@friendsvinp.org or 340-779-4940 with any questions or if you need assistance.
